Reflashing an ECU
Reflash of Watercraft OEM ECU/ECM involves reading and writing to the ECU utiliising a PC or laptop via an interface. This can only be accomplished as a "bench" process in a controlled environment. Reflash on a PWC with the ECU installed can result in a "bricked" ECU if battery voltage changes or is too low.

Your ECU has to be removed from your PWC and sent to one of our facilities in the USA or Australia. European and UK customers will have an option available soon in Spain. Â
Tuning an ECU
Tuning an ECU in simple terms, is optimizing boost and fuel mapping; knock control and ignition timing maps (like the map above) designed to preserve longevity while unlocking untapped power reserves.
Increasing boost is the main reason engine power increases. As the boost is increased with the different STAGE tunes, additional changes are incorporated to increase safety margins. Examples of this are : increased knock protection and compensation for higher Inlet Air, Oil and engine temperatures.
Â
All tunes are then tested on the water using additional instruments and logging to confirm both correct operation and safety margins. Testing and adjusting tunes takes months of work and multiple test runs.
